Tooth decay, a destruction of your tooth enamel, the hard, outer layer of your teeth. It can be a problem for children, teens and adults.
A sticky film of bacteria called plaque constantly forms on your teeth. When you eat or drink foods containing sugars, the bacteria in plaque catalyze acids that attack tooth enamel.
But, worry not! These are the natural and simple ways to avoid and remove cavities.
1. Eat healthy foods
Eat vegetables, coconut oil and avocado. Consuming these kinds of foods will help you fight cavities.
2. Avoid sugar
Sacrifice eating candies and other food with high sugar content to have healthy teeth without cavities.
3. Phytic acid should be removed
According to Precision Nutrition, phytic acid is found in nuts, edible seeds, bean/legumes and grains.
4. Change your regular toothpaste to mineralized toothpaste
Toothpaste that does not have fluoride can be a little pricey but some brands are still affordable compared to others.
You can also try this do-it yourself toothpaste:
- 1 tbsp. of water (filtered)
- ½ tsp. of coconut oil
- ¼ tsp. of peppermint extract
- ¼ tsp. chlorophyll flavored with mint
- 1/3 tsp. of baking soda
- 3 tbsp. of diatomaceous clay
