Rub These Two Oils On Your Gums And Teeth And You Probably Will Not Need To Go To A Dentist Again!

Essential oils have been used in oral health. According to a recent study, essential oils have a lot to offer – they are effective, safe, and beneficial for both teeth and gums.

By maintaining the balance of the oral flora, essential oils work as reliable and even better choice to antiseptic formulas.

However, according to a 2014 study conducted in the Journal of International Oral Health, entitled “Possible Use of Essential Oils in Dentistry”, essential oil rinses are found to be equally effective in inhibiting plaque. A study carried out by Pizzo et al. on plaque inhibitory effect of amine fluoride/stannous fluoride and essential oils showed no significant difference in efficacy of both.

As chlorhexidine causes staining of teeth on long term use, essential oils can be used as an alternative to chlorhexidine rinse. Essential oils have shown to possess antimicrobial activity against subgingival periopathogens too.

  • Clove Oil
Clove oil contains a compound called eugenol, which has been used in dentistry for its analgesic and anesthetic properties. This compound shows pharmacological effect on all bodily functions. Eugenol is also known for its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, in addition to its anesthetic activity.

  • Tee Tree Oil
Due to its powerful antifungal, antiviral, antiprotozoal, and antibacterial properties, tea tree oil reduces bacteria, yeast, and fungal infections and effectively treats viral infections like cold sores. In addition, it eases the symptoms of gingivitis and denture stomatitis.

According to a study conducted at Switzerland’s Institute of Preventative Dentistry and Oral Microbiology at the University of Basel, tea tree oil works against bad breath by inhibiting bacterial colonies responsible for halitosis.

Method:

Rubbing a clove and tea tree oil on your gums or brushing your teeth with them prevents bad breath, cavities, tooth decay, and gingivitis. Simply add 2 drops of these oils two times a day with a carrier oil like coconut oil.
