The rambutan fruit is one the most exotic fruits on this planet. Though indigenous to Malaysia this hairy fruit is often grown all through Southeast Asia.
Visually, the fruit looks like a little sea urchin. Inside, the juicy flesh is generally white or even rose-tinted and also sticks to the ovoid seed.
The name rambutan comes from an Indonesian name “rambut” which means hair. This tree belongs to a group of tropical trees that bear fruits like the lychee.
Though this fruit is not well known to a lot of people, some experts call it ‘super fruit’ because of the many benefits its ingestion has.
