Nowadays, the internet and its social networks can be helpful and entertaining but also dangerous at some times. This mother had to learn that painfully.
Imagine that you’re on Facebook and you get a friend request from a stranger, you don’t know him/her at all. Their profile picture is actually quite nice, so you’ve decided to accept the request. What could go wrong in this situation?
You quickly forgotten, because you have something much important things to do: your children is starting school for the first time.
You’re so proud of them and you are getting ready for the big day and you post photos of the ceremony on Facebook. Under the photos you write something like “What a day! My baby is all grown up!” Then you even link the picture with the name of the school and upload it on Facebook. But the consequences are terrifying.
What secretly happens after this is unimaginable - the stranger whose request you’ve accepted, downloaded the picture and uploaded it on an online catalogue where hundreds of men from around the world can see it! And wrote under the photo:
“Youngblood. American girl. Not even 6 years of ages! Only 10,000 dollars!”
You have no idea this is happening, for it’s all going on behind your back. But the horror first begins when you want to pick up your daughter from school a few weeks later, but no one is there! You look everywhere, ask everyone who you pass while stricken with tears: Have you seen my kid?
What is happening to your little girl at that moment is something you don’t want to hear. And all of this wouldn’t have happened if you hadn’t committed this serious mistake.
And even if your child is spared from the worst, the disgusting feeling of knowing that you’re your children’s picture will end up in a catalog for child molesters.
Therefore, STOP ADDING STRANGERS ON FACEBOOK! It’s better to have one less “friend” than to live through this horror story.
We must never forget this message:
Beware of strangers on social networks. Reject friend request from strangers! And most importantly, never post pictures of your children! Because they might end up in the wrong hands. Pedophiles are hiding everywhere.
Don’t forget to share this important warning with your family and friends to avoid this horrifying tragedy!
